A BILL to amend and reenact section two, article one, chapter
twenty-five of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine
hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to making technical
corrections changing the termination date of the division of
corrections pursuant to the provisions of article ten, chapter
four of the code.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section two, article one, chapter twenty-five of the code
of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended,
be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 1. ORGANIZATION AND INSTITUTIONS.
§25-1-2. Reestablishment of division; findings.
Pursuant to the provisions of article ten, chapter four of
this code, the division of corrections shall continue to exist
until the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred ninety-six,
to allow for monitoring of compliance with recommendations
contained in the performance audit and to allow for further review
of the division by the joint committee on government operations two thousand.

(NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to make technical
corrections to the termination date of the Division of Corrections,
conforming the date found in §25-1-2 to the date found in the West
Virginia Sunset Law, 4-10 of the code.

be added.
This bill is recommended by the Joint Committee on Government
Operations for passage during the 1997 Regular Session of the
Legislature.)
